Production Meeting

in Production, Shattered Pieces

Today has been long and tiring, and it’s only 6.30pm! I think it’s more tiring mentally, or probably because I haven’t been sleeping properly.

To start the day, I met Andrew Ormerod (Location Manager) at Liverpool Street at about 10am. He drove me around London, showing me the different alleyways and cafés he had found.
It was tough trying to keep in consideration my artistic vision alongside distances from other locations, continuity, and other technical issues. I decided to rank them in order of preference, which happened to be, the same order we went to see them in.
The last location we checked out was a tunnel covered in graffiti, which I think is nicknamed “The Graffiti Tunnel” (oddly :D ). It was such a great location, not for this film, but I really want to be able to do something  there in the future. I’ll think about that once I survive this!

At around 1pm, we rushed to get to the production meeting in Shoreditch. Attending this meeting were KC Thiruchelvam (Assistant Director), Pete Wallington (Director of Photography), and Andrew Ormes (Production Designer).

After ordering some lunch, we went straight to business. It was tough. I thought I would finally be able to get a good nights sleep, but the reality of how much still had to be done and sorted out became even more clear.

With only a few days until we have to start shooting, we still have to lock in locations, schedule the shoot, work out lighting and so many other things!
I have confidence in my team, though. They are passionate and into this project as much as I am. So, I keep saying to myself, we can do it. And, we will.
